Stones Of Turquoise
Hand-crafted Sterling Silver Jewellery by Susan Cross
Hello and welcome.
My name is Sue. I use traditional silversmithing skills to handcraft items of jewellery from my workbench at home in Leicestershire.
I discovered that I loved silversmithing many moons ago while at school. I did not know then that one day my dream of working from home in this craft would turn into reality.
Lots of my ideas come from the flora and fauna I see in our garden and in woodland close by where we like to walk our dogs.
I am also influenced by my interest in Art Nouveau and the Art of the Pre-Raphaelites.
For as long as I can remember I have wanted to make things. My mother and grandmother taught me how to knit, sew and embroider. I still have the Singer hand sewing machine that I used as a teenager to make my clothes. I still enjoy sewing but now, rather than buy fabric, I prefer to restyle old clothes.
The words 'stones of turquoise' are part of a verse taken from the biblical book of Isaiah (ch54, v11)
The jewellery I make complies with the Sheffield Assay Office Hallmarking regulations and I have my own makers mark. Some pieces do not require a Hallmark (which is dependant on weight) but if you would like one I can arrange this at extra cost and delivery time. Each piece of jewellery I make is presented in a gift box.
Please note that because the items sold contain small pieces they are not suitable for young children.
